Dear Family of Anthony,
I am so sorry for your loss, Anthony was one of the best men I have ever known. He was godfather to my daughters Duncan Burns, Elizabeth Smith and Deanna Leitch. He stood by our sides through everything. My girls counted on him for advice and counseling and love and lots of laughter. When Duncan was in a near fatal car accident he was there everyday. We at the Carolina Beach Parks & Recreation Department send our deepest condolences to Anthony's family. I worked with Anthony for 9 seasons of our youth basketball league. I couldn't ask for a better coach, role model, friend, and supporter for our basketball program and the kids in it than Anthony. He was always one of the coaches that kids most requested every season and his teams and players always seemed to improve greatly from beginning of the season to the end. Anthony loved the Rec. and the Rec. loved him. Anthony and his smile and enthusiasm will be greatly missed by myself, our staff and all of the kids who were coached by and looked up to him through the years. I am sure that many many of them have and will take lessons Anthony taught them into their adult lives.

To all of Coaches family, we thank you for sharing this wonderful man with us. I have had the honor of knowing Anthony for over 10 years as he coached my son in basketball and as my son grew into a man he became an assistant coach for Anthony. A better role model for the kids you will never find!
