Berlene Waters, 92 of Jaksonville died May 9, 2012 at her Residence.  She was a member of Faith Victory Church, Jacksonville, NC, under the pastorate of Bishop Larry Petteway. Homegoing service will be held 12:00 noon Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Deliverance Evangelistic Temple, 120 Country Club  Road, Jacksonville, NC. 

Burial immediately following at Browns Memorial Gardens, Lindsey James Rd., Hwy 111, Jacksonville, NC.

Berlene (Thomas) Waters, 92, of 1016 Wells Road,     Jacksonville, North Carolina, widow of James S. Waters, Sr.,    entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 9, 2012.

Mrs. Waters was born September 23, 1919 in Jacksonville, North Carolina, daughter of the late Harmond and Josephine (Brown) Thomas.  She was a member of Victory Faith Tabernacle Church and educated in the Onslow County School systems.

She was predeceased by one grandson, Alfred E. Parker, Jr.

She leaves to cherish in her memory, two sons, James Jr. and Stanley Waters, seven daughters, Jennie Kinsey (Ernest), Mamie and Wanda Waters all of Jacksonville, Betty Waters, Margaret Taylor and Gwendolyn ( Miggie) Mitchell of Waterbury CT and Olivia (Alfred) Parker of Richlands, NC;  27 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.  One brother, John L. Thomas of Norfolk VA, 2 foster brothers, Walter & Robert Thompson and 1 foster sister, Rosalie Thompson Kornegay all of Jacksonville NC; one aunt, Della Thomas, of Jacksonville, NC; special cousins, Norman Brown, Marietta Brown and Lula Todman of Jacksonville, NC; Alice Saunders of Allentown, PA, Louverna Moore of Trenton, NC; Lillian Currin, Raleigh, NC, Linda Arnold, Lynchburg, VA;  Richard Barber, Somerset, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
